On October 1st, 2016 I went to the River Bend Conservation Area to make hydrophone recordings of the Coonamessett River. I recorded at a number of locations, and crafted them into the single mono track you find here. As you progress through the track, you travel downstream through the various locations the recordings were taken, through faster and slower sections, through mats of plant matter bumping into the hydrophone.

I wanted to start this series by publishing the recordings of River Bend, because this conservation parcel was dedicated to Beth Schwarzman. She was a local naturalist, geologist, and author of the essential "The Nature of Cape Cod." She also created the maps found on the website of the 300 Committee, a land conservation group in Falmouth. These maps cover a large amount of the conservation parcels around the town, and are both informative and easy to read. The importance of Beth Schwarzman's work about Cape Cod and Falmouth in particular cannot be understated, both for me and this project, and thus I start the public portion of this project here.
